Quinton de Kock was soon joined by Saurabh Tiwary, and the pair began rebuilding the innings. Their partnership added a crucial 45-run stand to the scorecard. Tiwary and Hardik Pandya continued to play well as they moved MI past 90 in the 10th over when de Kock was dismissed by Mohammad Shami. Nathan Ellis struck in the 16th over to prevent the left-hander from reaching his fifty. Taking Kieron Pollard with him in the middle, Hardik hit a four and a six in the 17th over to help MI get close to 110. Following that, Pollard faced Arshdeep Singh and got the run count to 120/4 with a four and a six. In the end, Hardik finished off the game with two fours and a six for MI
Krunal Pandya trapped Mandeep leg before wicket in the sixth over as MI stayed tight with the ball in the powerplay. The superb bowling of Kieron Pollard accounted for two major wickets in the 7th over as he took the wicket of Chris Gayle and PBKS skipper KL Rahul. Jasprit Bumrah then had the better of Nicholas Pooran as MI reduced PBKS to 48/4 Deepak Hooda and Aiden Markram formed the perfect partnership for PBKS. Before Markram was dismissed by Rahul Chahar for 42 in the 16th over, the pair added an important 61-run stand for PBKS to push the score closer to 110.
