Apple Steals the Show at WWDC23 with Vision Pro Headset:
Apple WWDC23 Announcements: Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) featured several big announcements, the most notable of which was the company's first venture to mix reality via the Vision Pro headset. A new MacBook Air was also introduced, as well as an upgraded Mac Studio and Mac Pro, a new M2 Ultra processor, and other software improvements.

Apple Vision Pro:
Though Apple talked about this amazing and advanced tech at the end of their keynote address, we are going to talk about this most advanced mixed reality headset first. Apple always has been trend setter in the field of technology and to prove this again, this year they have introduced their first ever Mixed Reality Headset “Vision Pro.” Apple termed this as powerful “Spatial Computer” device which will comes with Apple’s M2 chipset as well as with all-new R1 chipset.
Here are the Key features of the Apple’s Vision Pro Headset -
Apple's Vision Pro Headset will be powered by a dual chipset, which will provide customers with spatial experiences while using Vision Pro. With Apple's M2 Chipset in Vision Pro, you will be able to run stunning visuals, powerful computer vision algorithms, and VisionOS. All of this is possible because of the M2 Chip. Along with the M2 processor, Vision Pro will use the all-new Apple R1 Chipset. This R1 processor will analyze sensor, camera, and microphone inputs and show pictures in 12 milliseconds or less, giving the user a real-time view of their surroundings with no delay.
- Apple's Vision will run on all-new VisionOS and that will be based on iOS framework. The interface allows users to operate apps using their eyes, hands, or voice. You can navigate your app library by simply glancing at it, touching your fingers, or flicking your wrists.
- All new Vision Pro will have 12 cameras, six microphones, and five sensors.
- When a person walks close to the user, the device's cameras and external screen reveal the user's eyes. It is intended to provide visual indications to others as to what the user's eyes are focused on while using the device.
- For privacy and security of the user Apple has introduced a new technology and named it "Optic ID." This Optic ID by Apple is a secure authentication system which will use iris scan of the user.
- Apple's first gen Vision Pro will feature Apple's first ever 3D camera. This 3D camera will enable will users to capture amazing spatial videos and spatial photos in 3D, these memories can be enjoyed later with spatial audio.
Price of Apple Vision Pro: Apple has priced the Vision Pro Headset at $3,499. The Vision Pro headset will be available from early next year in the US market and later will come to other parts of the world.
Apple MacBook Air 15-inch:
Last night at WWDC23 Apple finally launched its first 15-inch laptop - MacBook Air. Apple is marketing it as the slimmest 15-inch laptop.
Here are the Key features of the Apple’s 15-inch Apple MacBook Air:
- The MacBook Air 15-inch features Apple's M2 processor and has a 15.3-inch display that Apple claims is the thinnest 15-inch laptop in the world.
- The 15-inch variant of MacBook Air is 11.5mm thick and weighs just 3.3 pounds, featuring two Thunderbolt ports and a Magsafe cable connector, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
- Apple claimed that MacBook Air 15-inch will have 18 hours of battery life. When compared to a PC or laptop with an Intel Core i7 CPU, the MacBook Air provides up to 2x quicker performance, up to 50% faster web browsing, and up to 50% longer battery life.
- The speakers on the MacBook Air support Spatial Audio as well as Dolby Atmos, allowing you to enjoy three-dimensional soundstages for music and movies.
- Apple MacBook Air 15-inch will come in four colors - Moonlight, Starlight, Space Grey, and Silver.
Price of MacBook Air 15-inch: Apple has priced the 15-inch MacBook Air at $1299. The MacBook Air 15-inch will be available to purchase from June 13 onwards all around the world, exclusively through Apple Stores and Apple Website.
Apple Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M2 Ultra:
Here are the Key Specifications of the Mac Studio and Mac Pro –
Apple Inc. has announced a Mac Pro with a fresh new M2 Ultra system-on-chip at its core. While the workstation has the same cheese grater design as its Intel-based predecessor, the 24-core CPU, 76-core GPU processor is said to be up to three times quicker. Unfortunately, you cannot update the RAM yourself, but seven PCIe slots and eight Thunderbolt 4 connectors offer the flexibility heavy-duty users want.
Meanwhile, the Mac Studio is a basic update to last year's tiny pro machine. It is available in M2 Max and M2 Ultra variants, each featuring a higher-bandwidth HDMI connector that supports up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates.
Price of Apple Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M2 Ultra: Both Apple Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M2 Chipset will be available from June 13. The starting price of Apple Mac Studio is $1,999, whereas the Apple Mac Pro is $6,599.
MacOS Sonoma:
- Mac software upgrades typically follow iOS releases while also offering a few fresh features, and this is clearly happening with the recently released macOS Sonoma. The update includes interactive desktop widgets that may sync with your iPhone. With a presenter overlay, responses, and enhanced screen sharing, video conversations receive an update.
- Safari now has tougher anti-tracking protections in Private Browsing, as well as web applications in the macOS dock. Gamers will love Game Mode's performance prioritization, and there are even Apple TV-style visual screensavers. Accessibility has also been enhanced.
- During WWDC23 developers will be able to test MacOS Sonoma. The full-fledged MacOS Sonoma will be released by Autumn this year.
Apple iOS 17:
Here are the new features added to the iOS 17 –
- The iPhone phone app now supports personalized contact displays, which are contact images that appear during an incoming call. Users can personalize their appearance with additional picture filters and treatments, new fonts, and Memojis.
- Messages have been redesigned with a more modern appearance, transcripts, sticker features, and support for location-based check-ins.
- In addition, there is a new Journal app that allows you to log and monitor your activities, and the mood tracking feature can assist discover medically significant, emotional changes.
- Live Voicemail now has the capacity to give real-time transcriptions that are calculated on the device. FaceTime has been upgraded to accommodate both voice and video communications, and users may now be more expressive with reactions like hearts, balloons, and fireworks.
- When your iPhone is charged in landscape position, it may now serve as a smart display. It will provide you with relevant information at a glance. The upgrade will be released later this year, with the first public beta set to launch in July.
Apple iPadOS 17:

- The health app now has more interactive personal data, including enhanced sleep and exercise visualizations, thanks to iPadOS 17.

- With all of the screen area available on an iPad, Apple improved the capabilities of PDFs, which can now be auto filled and signed from within iPadOS.
- Owners of iPads may now communicate in real time when editing PDFs, and the files can now be saved in the Notes app.
Apple watchOS 10:

- With watchOS 10, Apple is overhauling the smartwatch interface for the first time. The primary screen has been overhauled with an emphasis on widgets for timers, podcasts, and other information that users can access fast by using the Apple Watch's digital crown.
- Apps like Activity and World Clock have been upgraded with new capabilities, and with the update, Apple Watch will begin supporting bike sensors, allowing them to exchange heart rate and power data.
- The Mindfulness app now includes mood tracking as well as a new option for outside time tracking, which Apple claims will help avoid near-sightedness.
- FaceTime video communications are now supported, as is the option to join group audio conversations via Apple Watch.
