What is a Passport, Definition:

Difference between Passport and Visa: -

Both passport and a visa are essential documents for traveling abroad. Broadly speaking, there is some difference between a passport and a visa which are as follows –

  • Passport is an international travel document that is given by a country to its citizens as an identity card for traveling to other countries, the same visa is a kind of official temporary permission, which is allowed from that country before going to a country. is taken as such. We can enter that country only after obtaining such permission.
  • Similarly, it can be said that a passport is in the form of a small diary, the same visa is a stamp in the passport which is considered an official stamp.
  • A passport is issued to the person of his country by his own country, but a visa is provided by the government of the country where the traveller wants to go.
  • On the other hand, one purpose of a passport is to prove your identity to go from your country to another country and to return safely through that identity while returning.
  • Passports are issued by the country's government department, whereas Visa is issued by the foreign embassy.
  • Passport is granted permanently for an extended period whereas the primary purpose of issuing a visa is to allow entry and temporary stay in foreign countries.

 

An important purpose of a passport: - If a person has to travel abroad for any reason, whether it is education department, medical department, trade department, pilgrimage - tourism department or to meet any of his family members, for any of these purposes, the person is allowed to travel abroad. For this, an important document is needed during the journey, which is - a passport. That is, mainly the passport is made for the purpose of international travel, under which complete details of the identity of the nationality and citizenship of the traveller coming to travel abroad are given. 
 

Types of Passports:

A passport means International Travel Document. A passport is such an important document without which we cannot travel internationally or travel abroad. Under this, the citizenship and nationality of the traveller are certified by the national government, so that entry is allowed in other countries, but under the Passport Act, of 1967, many different types have been issued such as Diplomatic Passport, Ordinary Passport, Emergency Certificate and Certificate of Identity have also been issued under the official passport and valid documents.

1. Ordinary Passport - Ordinary passport is dark blue in color and it is issued for ordinary people and for ordinary works. This passport is made for the common citizens of India. Blue Color Passport: Like other passports, this passport also contains the name of the passenger, his date of birth and place of birth, his photograph and his signature, as well as the date of issue and date of expiry of the passport. On getting this passport, people can easily travel to other countries by getting a visa from another country on it. Generally, this passport is used more.
 

2. Official Passport - The official passport is usually white in color and this passport is issued for government officials, that is, the white colored passport represents the government servant. White easily identifies people going abroad for government work. This passport is meant for official identification and during customer checking during the journey, they are also dealt with according to the government employee.

White Color Passport: A separate application has to be submitted to obtain a white color passport and under this, it is necessary to state the reason for the need for this passport. White color passport Akshay is often used more by government employees or ministers and leaders. Apart from being a government servant, a person with a white passport is also provided with some higher facilities.
 

3. Diplomatic Passport - Diplomatic passport is maroon in color. Maroon color passport is given to Indian diplomats and senior government officials like IPS, and IAS rankers. Maroon-colored passwords are generally not easy to obtain. A separate application is given to obtain this passport, under which the member receiving it is given many high government facilities from the embassy to travel abroad. Also, they do not need a visa to go to other countries and for this reason, their immigration is done very quickly and very easily as compared to normal people. This passport is easily issued to Indian diplomats.

Maroon Color Passport: Maroon color passport i.e., a Diplomatic passport is for the officers of the Indian High Commission or for the representative of the government. A diplomatic passport is not available to normal people at all, its color is also kept different from normal passports so that they can be identified separately. Apart from this, we want to inform you that only Passport Seva Kendra does the work of Passport Dispatch, Passport Lamination, Passport Printing, Liaison with the Ministry of External Affairs, Police, Administrator of State or Union Territories, etc.
 

Let us tell you the process of applying for a passport –

First of all, one has to visit the website of Passport Seva given by the government Passport Seva Home | Indian Passport

  • You will have to register by clicking on the New User box.
  • After registration, choose your city on the site and choose the passport office of your city, then write your full name in the registration form here.
  • Then click on registration.
  • After registration, after creating your account, go back to the Passport Seva website.
  • On coming back to the passport website, a green colored login button will appear, click on it.
  • Enter your email id here and click on continue.
  • Login by typing your email id password and the latest one made on the image.
  • After login here, click on "Apply for Fresh Passport" or "Re-issue Passport".
  • Here you get two options in front of you, first- you can download the form and fill it out and upload it on the website, second- the option is to fill out the online form.
  • If you want to fill out the online form here, then we have to click on "Click here to fill the application form online".
  • Next to this, we get other options like new passport, passport reissue, normal or instant, 38-page or 60-page passport, out of which we have to choose one option according to our own.
  • After that fill in the information sought in your form and then click on the submit button.
  • After filling out the phone completely, go back to "Apply for Fresh Passport" or "Re-issue Passport".
  • Now you have to click on "Pay & Schedule Appointment".
  • Next click on online payment and next has to be done.
  • Now click on “Pay and Book Appointment”.
  • After this you will have to change your payment password and visit the Passport Seva website again.
  • Where you will see "Appointment Confirmation" written, clicking on which you will get complete information about the appointment of Passport Seva Kendra.
  • After that, by clicking on “Enprint Application Receipt”, you can see the complete details of your application form here.
  • And after viewing this information we can take a printout of our "Appointment Confirmation" by clicking on 'Print Application Receipt'.
  • It is mandatory to submit this receipt to the Passport Seva Kendra at the time of going to collect the passport.
  • So, during this process, we can apply for our passport and can collect the passport after a few days.

 

Let us now tell you what the documents required to get a passport –

As we have told you that why a passport is necessary for us if an Indian citizen wants to travel abroad, then the most important thing is a passport i.e. passport or "International Travel Document". There is no foreign travel without a passport, that's why we are going to tell you today what documents we need to make a passport and also give information about the fees to be spent for it –

To get a 'Passport' or "International Travel Document" you have to appear at the post office with the following documents as mentioned below –

1. Birth certificate means birth certificate.

2. Four photographs of your passport size and your identity card, which the officer of Passport Seva Kendra verifies with address proof and other proofs.

3. Original Domicile Certificate

4. Certificate of Nationality, which the official of Passport Seva Kendra verifies the supporting documents. Or

Annexure Format-1: Citizenship of India and affidavit of no criminal record.

5. 10th mark sheet, Aadhaar card, and PAN card.

6. Other documents for proof of your permanent address like electricity or water bill, ration card, assessment order of income tax department, bank passbook, etc.
 

Talking about the cost of making a passport, it costs around ₹ 1500 to ₹ 2000 to make a normal passport, and apart from this, there is some extra charge for making an instant passport.
 

Passport Validity: Nowadays, PAN cards, Ration cards, Aadhaar cards, driving licenses Passport cards, etc. have become essential documents and apart from being essential, their validity is also limited. But after the validity is over, we can get them renewed again. So let us tell you the validity of your passport card today and the way to get it renewed: –

According to Indian law, a passport is issued to an adult citizen of India for 10 years. And this passport expires after 10 years, and after that, it can be renewed again.

According to Indian law, apart from an adult citizen, a minor child can also be given a passport for up to 5 years, after 5 years it expires, after which it can be renewed again. Accordingly, under Indian law, passports are issued to adult citizens and minor children for different time limits and after the passport expires, they can be renewed again by paying some fee.
 

Steps to renew Passport -

2. Even after this, click on the Jesus Passport option.

3. After that click on the 'Click here to fill the application form online option'.

4. Meet all the details sought here correctly and click on submit.

5. Afterwards click on the option 'View Saved or Submitted Applications'.

6. After this, the fee for the reissue of the passport has to be deposited here.

7. Option Pay & Schedule Appointment has to be selected to deposit the fee.

8. After this, the fee will have to be deposited there through an online payment.

9. After that book an appointment for the passport office and click on the appointment confirmation option here and verify all the information by visiting your Passport Seva Kendra.

10. According to the same process, your passport will be renewed in about 7 days and the new passport will arrive at the address as specified.
