A Brief Introduction About Uttar Pradesh:

• Uttar Pradesh is a northern Indian state that borders Nepal. The state is bounded on the west by Rajasthan, on the northwest by Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi, on the north by Uttarakhand and an international border with Nepal, on the east by Bihar, on the south by Madhya Pradesh, and on the southeast by Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
• Uttar Pradesh is India's most populous state and the world's most populous country subdivision.
• The Ganges and its tributary, the Yamuna, converge at Prayagraj Triveni Sangam.
• The state's forest cover accounts for 6.1% of its total land area.
• The cultivable land accounts for 82% of the overall geographical area, while the net area planted accounts for 68.5 percent of the cultivable area.
• It is the fourth-largest Indian state by land, covering 240,928 square kilometers, or 7.3 percent of the total area of India.

State Emblem of Uttar Pradesh:

As a state emblem, Uttar Pradesh has a seal depicting the confluence of the Yamuna and Ganges rivers at Prayagraj, a pair of Matsyas, an Avatar from Hindu mythology that represents Awadh, and a bow and arrow that represents Lord Rama and his city of Ayodhya, the ancient, cultural capital of the region. Around the seal is written "Government of Uttar Pradesh".

State Animal of Uttar Pradesh: Barasingha (Rucervus Duvaucelii)

• The barasingha (Rucervus duvaucelii), often known as swamp deer, is a species of deer found in India.
• The swamp deer is distinguished from all other Indian deer species by the presence of more than three tines on the antlers.
• Because of its distinguishing feature, it is known as bārah-singgā, which means "twelve-horned" in Hindi.
• Mature stags typically have 10 to 14 tines, although some have up to 20.

State Bird of Uttar Pradesh: Sarus Crane (Grus Antigone)

• The sarus crane (Grus Antigone) is a huge nonmigratory crane that can be found in regions of India, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
• The tallest of the flying birds, reaching heights of up to 1.8 meters.
• The distinctive red head and upper neck of the sarus crane set it apart from other cranes in the vicinity.
• They hunt for roots, tubers, insects, crustaceans, and small vertebrate prey in marshes and shallow wetlands.

State Flower of Uttar Pradesh: Palash (Butea Monosperma)

• Butea monosperma is a Butea species native to the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
• Flame-of-the-forest, Palash, and bastard teak are all common names for this species.
• The flowers are 2.5 cm long, vivid orange-red, and produced in 15 cm long racemes.

State Tree of Uttar Pradesh: Ashoka (Saraca asoca)

• Saraca asoca is a legume plant that belongs to the Detarioideae subfamily.
• The Ashoka is highly valued for its stunning leaves and fragrant blossoms.
• It is a small, erect evergreen tree with dark green leaves that grow in thick clusters.
• It flowers from February to April.
• The Ashoka blossoms grow in large, thick clusters. They're a vibrant orange-yellow tint that turns crimson before fading.

State Fish of Uttar Pradesh: Chital (Chitala chitala)

• Chitala chitala is a knifefish found in the Brahmaputra, Indus, and Ganges River basins of Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
• It's also known as the Indian featherback or knife fish. C. chitala can grow to be 122 cm long, however, it is more often found at 75 cm.
• The overall color is silvery. Unlike all of its cousins, it frequently has a sequence of golden or silvery bars running down the back, giving it a slight striped look.
