The situation was getting worse day by day and lockdown was extending week by week. Due to Lockdown the buses and passenger trains were halted and the migrants worker got stuck under these adverse circumstances. They got fired from their jobs because factories and other work was halted due to lockdown. Due to lack of work money problem started in their lives which leads them to shortage of food in their lives  and landlords also started to ask for their rents, which leads them to start walking to reach their homes and force them to live on Footpath with empty stomach.

Well, we always have so much faith in the film stars and especially the hero of a film that he/she will take care of things at the end of the day.  Even the story of any ordinary movie is all about the hero and how he solves the problems. But this time a hero who is popularly known as villain (in the movies) helped and saved thousands of people. Let’s see how he saved so many lives by helping them and how much love and also some criticism he got. “I intended to work till the last migrant  reached his home. The journey has to continue in full force. No one should be rendered homeless. We want them to reach home safely”,Sonu Sood said.

He said that he knew the feeling of being a migrant as he was also a migrant. Whenever he sees the struggle of migrants it reminds him of the journey of his struggle. He gives the whole credit to his parents. He grew up watching his mother Saroj Sood in Punjab tutoring poor children for free and his father Shakti Sood offers langar from his cloth shop in Moga. “They drilled into me that you are truly successful only if you help others.” He has helped thousands of people in reaching their home. “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the day our buses filled with people went to Karnataka. I’ve been missing out on calls and messages, which is why I started the toll free number. That’s also flooded with calls. There are over 70,000 people on the waiting list, and many more contacting us,” says Sood.

It was not easy for him as the most difficult thing is to get permissions from the respective authorities. He said that he wanted to help the people of Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, but Telangana refused to take their people and some authorities gave late response. Sonu Sood and his friend Neeti Goel fed almost 45000 people  from the beginning of lockdown , but soon they observed a change in migrant’s behaviour . Now they don’t want food , they want to go home and that’s when they decided to send them home. In first they booked 10 buses and sent people home. Soon, friends of Sonu Sood and Neeti Goel came forward to help. Friends, family, people from the film industry, cricketers and businessmen were among the donors, giving anywhere between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 30 lakh, Goel said. But instead of supporting him some political leaders were criticizing him , Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena MP  Sanjay Raut ,asked whether the BJP had propped him to offer help to workers from North India, stranded in Maharashtra amid the lockdown.

Sonu Sood replied to him by saying “I have nothing to do with politics. I am doing this purely out of my love for migrants. I want to help reunite them with their families”. "Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called up actor SonuSood and complimented him for his dedicated work in facilitating the safe transportation of migrant people from various states to their home states. "Sonu Sood said that “ a pregnant woman which he waved goodbye, few weeks ago has given birth to a baby boy and she named the child as Sonu Sood Shrivastav. .  He called this his ‘biggest award’ so far.

Well he is popularly known as the villain in Bollywood but in real life he is not less than any Superhero. From reel to real he won the hearts of people and proved his love for India.
