It's time to take a look backward at a number of the best smartphones introduced in 2022 as the year is coming at an end. This year many 5G smartphones launched at various price points, just like they did in 2021. Because most of the smartphones introduced this year are 5G phones, so it’s safe to say that some progress has been made compared to last year. The smartphone manufacturers anticipate increasing the cost of 5G phones in 2023, the newest 5G network is also available in a few locations in India. It is believed that towards the end of the year 2023 whole India will have 5G network. Vivo V 23 Series:
The first smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Vivo V 23 Series. Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro was launched on February 5, 2022. The 6.44-inch flat AMOLED panel in the Vivo V23 has a 2400*1080p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone's hardware consists of a MediaTek 920 5G processor and an Arm Mali-G68 GPU for graphics. With the option to virtually extend the RAM, it is available in two alternative memory and storage configurations: 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB.
The Vivo V23 Pro, which has a 6.56-inch curved AMOLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate, is the more expensive of the two. It has a Dimensity 1200 SoC and is available in two configurations: 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB, with the potential of virtually extending the RAM if necessary. The 44W FlashCharge technology can recharge the phone's 4,300 mAh battery.
Samsung S22 Series:
The second smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series. One of the Android-based Galaxy S series smartphones from Samsung Electronics is the Galaxy S22. released on February 9, 2022, at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked celebration. The Galaxy S22 series includes three different models: the standard Galaxy S22, the plus Galaxy S22+, and the camera-note-focused Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy Note20 series and Note lineup are officially replaced by the S22 Ultra.
Three variants in the S22 range are available, each with a different hardware configuration. All models outside of these regions use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, with the exception of several African and all European nations, which employ the Exynos 2200. Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with HDR10+ compatibility and "dynamic tone mapping" technologies are featured in the S22 series. A second-generation ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor is used in all versions.
8 GB of RAM and internal storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB are available with the S22 and S22+. Internal storage options for the S22 Ultra are 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. OnePlus 10 Pro:
The third smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the OnePlus 10 Pro. On March 31, 2022, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, a premium Android-based smartphone. In addition to improved cameras created in partnership with Hasselblad, the phone succeeds the OnePlus 9 Pro.
A 120Hz LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display is included in the OnePlus 10 Pro phone. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor powers the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 5000mAh battery and supports proprietary super-fast charging. A triple 2-Generation Hasselblad 50-megapixel camera array is included with the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro has storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB and runs OxygenOS in the US or ColorOS 12.1 in China. It has 8GB and 12GB of RAM as well.
Realme GT 2 Pro:
The Fourth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Realme GT 2 Pro. April 7th, 2022 saw the launch of the Realme GT 2 Pro in India. The 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO 2.0 display on the Realme GT 2 Pro boasts a number of impressive features, including a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, HDR10+, 1,400nits of brightness, and MEMC. The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 CPU from Qualcomm, along with an Adreno GPU, powers the phone. The storage capacity is 256GB, and the RAM can reach 12GB. Out of the box, Realme UI 3.0, a custom skin for Android 12, powers the device.
Vivo X80 Series:
The fifth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Vivo X80 Series which was launched on May 18, 2022, in India. Featuring a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, the Vivo X80 offers a large screen. The gadget includes three rear cameras set up at the back and a centered punch-hole display style. There is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset within the device. Out of the box, the phone is running Android 12. There is a 4,500mAh battery inside the brand-new Vivo phone. An 80W wired charger from the firm is included in the package.
The premium model of the series, the Vivo X80 Pro, is outfitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen 1 chipset. The rating is IP68. The sixth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Motorola Moto G82 5G. On June 7th, Motorola unveiled the Moto G82 5G smartphone in India. The Motorola G82 5G sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 gamut, DC dimming, and a 1080 x 2440 pixel resolution. The show is operated by an Adreno 619L GPU, which is supported by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. The 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage on the Motorola G82 5G allow for up to 1TB of storage in total. The lights are kept on by a 5,000mAh battery with 30W turbo charging capability.
OPPO Reno 8 Series:
The seventh smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the OPPO Reno 8 Series. The smartphones are the most recent Reno models, and they are expected to replace the OPPO Reno 7 series. On July 18, 2022, OPPO officially unveiled their Reno 8 series in India. Three models—the OPPO Reno 8, OPPO Reno 8 Pro, and OPPO Reno 8 Pro Plus—make up the OPPO Reno 8 line.
A 90Hz refresh rate 6.43-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera will be available on the OPPO Reno 8. The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 CPU, with 256GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, supports it.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4:
The eighth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. As a member of the Samsung Galaxy Z line, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a foldable smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and it were both unveiled at the August 2022 Galaxy Unpacked event. August 25, 2022, saw its debut. The Galaxy Z Fold 3's replacement, this one.
A 6.2-inch HD+ cover Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2316 x 904 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz is featured on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. There includes an in-screen camera for selfies and video chats, as well as a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by an Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 CPU, the foldable. The phone has 12GB of RAM and non-expandable 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. It comes pre-installed with OneUI, a custom skin for Android 12L. The back panel of the device has a 1.9-inch secondary AMOLED screen with a resolution of 260 x 512 pixels. It has a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. OneUI 4.1, a customised version of Android 12, powers the phone. A marginal improvement over the Flip 3 is provided by the 3,700mAh battery and 25W charging of the Samsung Galaxy Flip Z 4.
Apple iPhone 14 Series:
The ninth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Apple iPhone 14 Series. Apple Inc. developed, produced, and sold handsets under the names iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. They are the sixteenth generation of iPhones, replacing the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini, and were unveiled alongside the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max flagships on September 7, 2022, at an Apple Event in Cupertino, California. The 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, upgraded rear-facing cameras, and satellite connectivity of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus allow users in distress to contact emergency services when they are beyond the Wi-Fi or cellular network coverage area.
iOS 16 was released along with the release of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus on September 16 and October 7, 2022, respectively. On September 9, 2022, preorders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus opened.

Pixel 7 Series:
The tenth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the Pixel 7 Series. As part of the Google Pixel product line, Google has created, manufactured, and marketed the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, two Android smartphones. They act as the respective Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro's replacements. In May 2022, at the keynote address for Google I/O, the phones were first shown off. They have a similar design to the Pixel 6 series and are powered by the Google Tensor chip of the second generation. They came pre-installed with Android 13.
At the yearly Made by Google event on October 6, 2022, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were formally unveiled. On October 13, the devices went on sale in the17 countries.
IQOO 11 5G:
The twelfth smartphone in our smartphone rewind 2022 list is the IQOO 11 5G. The newest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which was just introduced at the Qualcomm summit, will initially be found in the iQOO 11 and iQOO 11 Pro. The 4,700mAh battery in the Pro will allow 200W fast charging, while the standard iQOO 11 will have a 5,000mAh battery and a 120W fast charging option. The 6.78-inch 144Hz refresh rate panel on both devices will have a 2K resolution and 1800 nits of maximum brightness. The iQOO 11 will have a flat display, however the screen on the 11 Pro will be curved all the way around.
