A few weeks back Koo app was launched to counter Twitter, FAU-G was launched to counter PUB-G so this trend continues with the launch of the Sandes Messaging App which is going to competes with the most popular messaging app right now in the Indian Market such as Whatsapp, Telegram as well as Signal App. 

Sandes Messaging app was initially built for the government employees to share information with each other so that they can share information or any other secret documents without any fear of leaking the information. 

But now Sandes app has been made available for everyone in India to use. This app is now available for all Android users as well as all IOS users. IOS users can directly download this app from the Apple APP Store or from the official website of Sandes. Android user can download this app from the Official website - Sandes Portal, Government Instant Messaging System, Government of India (gims.gov.in)  For android users this app is not available in Google Play Store yet. 

About  Sandes App - 

Sandes is a messaging platform for Instant Communication for Government employees but now Public users may also be able to use the App on the invitation or can download directly from the website Sandes platform provides a Mobile App for Instant Messaging, a Portal for Administration and Dashboard services as well as Sandes Web for accessing the features on desktop or laptop. Sandes app can be customized to manage the various types of messaging and any other forms of communications in different Government Organizations. Sandes can be adapted by both Central and State Government Organizations for Intra and inter-organization communication. 

 Permission asked by Sandes: After login, a user needs to allow phone permissions for Sandes to access functionalities such as taking a picture and recording the video, recording the audio, accessing the contacts, making and managing phone calls, accessing photos, media and files on user’s device. 

Log-In:- USer can log in using the E-mail address or Mobile number at their convenience.

Contacts: The Contacts tab will display the Contacts of the user who are registered on Sandes. Search for a contact by name using the search option provided. Tap on a contact to start a one-to-one personal chat. Favourite contacts are displayed on the top of other contacts with a star indication.

Message Tags: A message may be tagged before sending. Any of the tags can be selected from the tag section. Messages tagged as Auto Delete tag are deleted as soon as the recipient reads such messages. Messages can also be tagged as Confidential or Priority.

 Audio Call: Tap the audio call icon to initiate the audio call. Tap the end call button to disconnect the call. Tap the icon to toggle between speaker mode and handset mode

Video Call: Tap the Video call icon to initiate the Video call. In an ongoing call, tap the camera icon to toggle between the front and back camera. Tap on the mic icon to mute the call. Tap the end call button to disconnect the call. Tap the icon to toggle between speaker mode and handset mode.
