Introduction: - 

Ratan Tata was born on 28 December 1937 in Surat city of Gujarat. Ratan Tata is the son of Shree Naval Tata. At that time Ratan Tata was just 10 years old. Today Ratan Tata is a well-known figure throughout the country of India. Ratan Tata is a noted Indian industrialist and also the retired chairman of Tata Sons.

Early Life of Ratan Tata: 

Ratan Tata's father Naval Tata and mother Sonu Tata separated due to some reason in the middle of 1940 and Ratan Tata and his brother Sonu Tata were adopted by their elder mother Nawazbai Tata, was an elder mother who raised her and raised. He started his early education from Campion School in Mumbai and got his secondary education in the Cathedral and attended John Cannon School while he has completed his B. Sc in Architecture. The very beginning of Ratan Tata's life has been very struggling. Ratan Tata wanted to lead a philanthropic life from the beginning. According to him, the philanthropists used to develop their institutions and hospitals whereas now there is a need to develop the country.

Career of Ratan Tata: - 

  • Ratan Tata worked for some time in Los Angeles, California, Jones and Amons before returning to India.
  • He started his career with the Tata group in 1961.
  • He first worked on Tata's steel shop floor in those days and at the same time, he continues to connect with the Tata group and companies.
  • In 1971, he was elected a director in charge of the National Radio and Electronics Company (Nelco) and after 10 years of his work, he was also made the chairman of Tata Industries.
  • Under the leadership of Ratan Tata, the Tata group also touched many new heights. Under his leadership, Tata Consultancy Services issued a public issue and was listed on the Tata Motors New York Stock Exchange.
  • In 1998, Tata Indica was introduced for the first time in India under his leadership. Tata Nano, the cheapest car in the world, has also been considered the result of Ratan Tata's own thinking.
  • Ratan Tata is now considered a retired chairman of Tata Motors. Tata has been the Chairman of the Tata Group from 1991 to 2012. He relinquished the position of Chairman of the Tata Group on 28 December 2012 but still remains the Chairman of the Charitable Trust of the Tata Group.
  • Ratan Tata was also the chairman of all major companies of the Tata Group such as Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, and Tata Teleservices. Under his leadership, the Tata group is believed to have touched many heights and the group's revenue has also increased manifold.

Ratan Tata's Support in The Coronary: -

The corona epidemic had engulfed people not only in India but in many other countries. Many people around the world have died due to coronavirus. During this time, many great people in India put forth their hand to help the public, one of them, the great person Ratan Tata, also helped the people a lot. To help people in such difficult times, an amount of 500 crores was first given from the Tata Trusts Fund, which was also mentioned in which work to use. After that, Tata Sons also announced the help of Rs 1000 crore after the Tata Trust i.e. a total amount of 1500 crore rupees was given by the Tata Group, and this amount was used to make more and more tests kits and provide treatment to the infected people. Done Along with this, training was also given to health workers and common people to protect themselves from coronavirus. Not only this, but the Tata group has also given a salary for the next 2 months to all its employees and daily wage earners. It was also announced in the company that even if a person is not able to come to work to prevent infection, then there will be no threat to their salary or job. Even before this, the Tata group has contributed a lot to many relief schemes. 

 
Honors and Awards Received by Ratan Tata:
In 2000, the Indian government presented Ratan Tata with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian accolade, and in 2008, it bestowed him with the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honor. He was given the highest civilian honor of Assam, the "Assam Baibhav," in 2021 for his outstanding work in advancing cancer treatment in the state.
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Honorary Doctor of Science by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2006.
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Honorary Doctor of Science by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2008. 
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Honorary Doctor of Science by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2008. 
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2009.
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering by the Indian National Academy of Engineering in 2008.
  • Ratan Tata was awarded Transformational Leader of the Decade by the Indian Affairs India Leadership Conclave in 2013.
Over the years, Ratan Tata has also received numerous awards from various countries.
