In the same context as the Jaipur Literary Festival (JLF), the state government of Rajasthan plans to organize the Rajasthan Literary Festival (RLF) in Jodhpur. This year marks the first year of the literature festival, which is officially known as Sahitya Kumbh.
The Rajasthan Literature festival will feature cultural and literary events such as 'Kavi Sammelan,' 'Mushaira,' and Rajasthani poetry recitation in 'Sahitya Kumbh,' according to Art and Culture Minister B D Kalla, who stated about the festival at a media briefing. The festival will also include a book fair, a handicraft fair, and food stalls serving local delicacies.
The three-day Rajasthan Literature Festival will begin on March 25 at Janana Bagh, Jodhpur. The Government of Rajasthan will be hosting the Rajasthan Literature Festival-2023 in the Jodhpur district from March 25 to 27.
The event aims to introduce the state's rich literary tradition to the younger generation. While also providing a platform for young and upcoming writers who've already established Rajasthan's literary contribution on the world stage.
Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Art and Culture Department, added that the Rajasthan Literature festival 2023 aims to promote the state's rich cultural heritage while also providing a platform for new and emerging writers to showcase their talent.
The RLF 2023 festival has already generated excitement in the literary and cultural community, with many people excited about the numerous events and performances scheduled. The state government hopes that the Rajasthan Literature Festival-2023 will provide a platform for emerging writers while also promoting Rajasthan's literary legacy on a worldwide scale.
"RLF is being organized under the direction of CM Ashok Gehlot to strengthen Rajasthan's literary identity and encourage culture. "RLF 2023 event will be made a success by Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi, Urdu Akademi, Sanskrit Akademi, Nehru Bal Sahitya Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lalit Kala Akademi, and other academies," said Gayatri Rathore, principal secretary of the department.
The RLF festival will also conclude with a spectacular cultural function featuring performances by well-known state performers. The festival will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for literature lovers, artists, and visitors from across the country to discover and experience Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage.
This Sahitya Kumbh (RLF 2023) will also include a national-level Mushaira. Famous poets from across the country will share the stage at this festival. The RLF 2023 will also feature a book fair and a handicraft fair, as well as food stalls at the venue.
The Rajasthan Sahitya Kumbh (RLF 2023) will be inaugurated on March 25 at 4.30 p.m. at Jodhpur's Zanana Bagh (Umaid Udyan). The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, will be the Chief Guest at the Rajasthan Literature Festival 2023. Dr. B.D. Kalla (Art and Culture Minister) will preside over the Rajasthan Literature Festival.
Special guests at Sahitya Kumbh 2023 will be Mrs. Zahida Khan (Minister of State for Art and Culture) and Mr. Ramesh Borana (Vice President - Rajasthan State Fair Authority, Jaipur). Mrs. Aruna Rai (Social Activist) and Mr. Sheen Kaf Nizam (Poet and Critic) will make special speeches at the RLF 2023 inaugural function.
Mushaira will begin at 6 p.m. on the second day of the program, March 26. 18 renowned poets will grace the stage with their poetry in the Mushaira, which is organized in collaboration with Rajasthan Urdu Academy, Jaipur. This session will be presided over by Wasim Barelvi. Nawaz Deobandi will host the event and delight the attendees with his poetry. Acclaimed poets Sheen Kaif Nizam of Jodhpur, Shakeel Azmi and M. Turaj of Mumbai, and Lokesh Singh Sahil of Jaipur will captivate the listeners with their poetry.
Dr. Nisar Rahi, Brajesh Amber, Madan Mohan Danish from Gwalior, Heena Taimuri from Agra, and Anjum Rehbar from Bhopal will brighten up the stage with their heartfelt phrases in the poetic genre, as well Habib Kaifi and Ishrakul Islam from Jodhpur. Whereas Mumtaz Naseem from Delhi, Asad Ali 'Asad' from Bikaner, Zakir Adeeb, Buniyaad Jaheen, and Mohammad Irshad from Bikaner will perform the charm of their poetry on stage.
