Lovlina Borgohain - Indian Women Boxer On The Verge To Win Her First Olympic Medal
About Lovlina Borgohain:
Lovlina Borgohain is an Amateur Woman Boxer of India born and brought up in Golaghar Assam. Lovlina Borgohain has won Bronze Medal at AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in 2018. She has received Arjuna Award for this performance in the boxing world in 2020. At the 1st Indian Open International Boxing Tournament, she won Gold Medal.
Lovlina Borgohain Early Life and Family:
Lovlina Borgohain was born at Golaghat, Assam on October 2nd 1997. Her father is Tiken and her mother is Mamoni Borgohain. Lovlina Borgohain’s father has a small-scale business. Lovlina Borgohain has two elder sisters Licha and Lima, both of them have participated in kickboxing at the national level tournament. Lovlina Borgohain also started her career as a kickboxer but later opted for boxing. During a trial held by SAI (Sports Authority of India) at Lovlina, she was noticed by the Renowned Coach Padum Boro and got selected. In her initial day of training, Lovlina was trained by Padum Boro and later she was trained by Sandhya Gurung.

- In her initial day of training, Lovlina was trained by Padum Boro and later she was trained by Sandhya Gurung. In 2017 she has won a Bronze Medal at Asian Boxing Championship held in Vietnam and also won Bronze Medal at the President’s Cup held at Astana in 2017.
- Later in 2018 Lovlina Borgohain was selected to participate in Commonwealth Games Welterweight Boxing Category. She was not able to win at this event. In the inaugural India Open – an International Boxing Championship 2018, Lovlina Borgohain won the gold medal in the Welterweight category.
- In 2020 she qualified for the Asia and Oceania Boxing Olympic Tournament. At Asian Olympics Qualifiers she won Bronze Medal.

- In 2019, at AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship held at Ulan-Ude in Welterweight 69kg category, Lovlina Borgohain won Bronze Medal.
- In 2021, at the Women’s Asian Boxing Championships held at Dubai in Welterweight 69kg category, Lovlina Borgohain won Bronze Medal.
Lovlina Borgohain at Tokyo Olympics 2020:
Lovlina Borgohain is participating in Tokyo Olympics 2020. In her two matches, she has defeated Nadine Apetz from Germany and Chinese Taipei’s boxer Chen Nien-chin. With these wins, she has now entered the Semifinal and secured a medal for Indian.
