Indian Field Hockey’s Road to Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020
Indian Hockey has seen so many ups and downfalls in its journey. There was a time when hockey was celebrated all across the country and that time Indian Hockey Team used to win big at the Olympics. The Indian Hockey team has won more than 7 Gold medals at the Olympics and the time period from 1928 to 1964 was considered as the golden era of Indian Hockey. But later the Indian Hockey team’s downfall has started and for that, mostly the hockey federation was responsible due to their lack of making good decisions. Later it is found that Hockey Federation was corrupt to has done many scams too. The greed and the lack of vision for the sports by the hockey federation led Indian Hockey into the dark. But after 2012 Hockey India Board was established and Indian Hockey started to rise again. In this Journey of Indian Hockey Orissa State Government also played a vital role cause the way Orissa Government has backed Indian Hockey none other government has done.
Now at Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020 Indian Hokey Team finally entered the semifinals after 49 years. So finally, this year Indian Hockey team is going to end the drought of the Olympics Medal in Hockey after 49 years. Here is the Hockey India team which is making this dream come true-
